Welcome to MDSICON 2020

Greetings from Thiruvananthapuram, the scenic capital city of Kerala!
It is our pleasure to host the 5th Annual Conference of the Movement Disorders Society of India (MDSI) in January 2020 at the renowned Kovalam beach town in Thiruvananthapuram. We cordially invite Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Neurophysiologists, Geneticists and health care professionals interested in Movement Disorders to this academic event.

This conference seeks to achieve an uncommon confluence of expertise that would provide an ideal blend of clinical, pharmacological, surgical, genetic and neurophysiological aspects of the fascinating sub-specialty of Movement Disorders. The scientific committee has already done a commendable job, putting together a program that would be of immense interest to a heterogeneous audience comprising post-graduate trainees, practising clinicians, academicians and researchers. We are immensely gratified to note the striking spurt in registration and the large number of first-rate scientific abstracts covering recent advances and high-quality videos for the ‘Video Akhada’.

Remarkably, the event is set against the exquisite backdrop of Kovalam, the coastal suburb of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala that is well-connected by air to other metros.  The unique beach, caressed by the Arabian Sea, reflects the quintessential beauty of the palm-fringed beaches of Kerala, popularly known as “God’s Own Country”. Kerala is a favourite destination of tourists from across the world who flock to the region, tempted, in equal measure, by the lure of its backwaters, the tropical climate, its art and the cuisine. And there can be no better time of the year to visit the beach resort than the month of January.

We believe that you will find the experience of attending the 5th Annual Conference of the Movement Disorders Society of India valuable and memorable.

We look forward to welcoming you at Kovalam in January 2020!

Prof. Asha Kishore
Organizing Chairperson
